
Professors and Master's and Doctorate students at the University of Taubaté (Unitau) presented seven research projects at the 40th edition of the Annual Meeting of the Brazilian Society of Dental Research (SBPqO), in Campinas – SP. Among the topics covered, diagnosing oral cancer through saliva, periodontitis and dental ceramics.
The SBPqO, is the largest dental research event in Latin America. It brings together several groups from other Universities in the country and enables networking with other institutions, establishing partnerships and sharing scientific and academic publications.
“It is a very important event because it presents the most current. There is great participation from high-level dentistry and I am very happy to see our students inserted in this context”, comments the Professor. Dra. Laís Regiane da Silva Council, coordinator of the Master's and Doctorate in Health Sciences at UNITAU.
On the first day of meeting, the coordinators of the Postgraduate courses met with the general director of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). Throughout the program, conversations were held, lectures and alignment of program actions.
One of the highlights of the University of Taubaté in Reunion was the presentation of the research on diagnosing oral cancer through patient saliva and which is coordinated by Prof.. Dr. Luis Felipe das Chagas and Silva de Carvalho. The objective of the work is to evaluate various systemic conditions to carry out early diagnoses.. The study is funded by the São Paulo State Research Support Foundation (FAPESP).
Graduate of the Doctorate in Health Sciences, MAIARA RODRIGUES DE FREITAS, made a presentation of the research produced during the training. She says that the event adds knowledge and experience for professionalization in this area..
“I have participated in this congress since 2017, I started presenting my scientific initiation work and was, year after year, presenting the work developed throughout my Masters and Doctorate”, tell the egress.
During the lectures, the scientific research “Influence of anatomic reference on the buccal contour of prosthetic crowns” was voluntarily cited in Congress. This study presented the evaluation of the fidelity of the reproduction of the oral contour in an upper left canine, using the indirect laminated veneer technique. One of the authors of the research is Profa. Dra. Laís Regiane da Silva Council, who was proud of the mention.
